A small piece of software runs on your network and watches the machines on it — toner levels, meter readings and faults — and sends what it sees straight to us.

So a cartridge is on its way before anybody opens a drawer and finds it empty.
Meter readings
Read automatically, so nobody walks the building with a clipboard at the end of the month and nobody is billed off a guess.
Faults
Reported as they happen. Often the first somebody knows about a problem is a technician ringing to arrange a visit.
What it does not do
The agent reports on the devices it manages — their counters, their consumables and their error states. It is a print-management tool, and that is the whole of its job.
Heartland publish install instructions, a technical requirements document, a security whitepaper and an appliance whitepaper. If your IT team want to read them before anything is installed, ask us and we will send them over.
Installing it
The agent installs on one machine on your network — a PC or a Mac — and finds the devices from there. Both installers are on our downloads page.
